When should we book our wedding?
There is no particular time that is perfect to start planning your wedding but most of our clients will begin planning and booking their dates about a year in advance. If you are behind the curve on this, that is not a problem just contact us regarding availability.
What is your typical set up?
Each of our events are very different and for that reason our set up will change but, you can plan on two speakers and two tripods with lights on them. For more exact information on what we offer for your event please feel free to refer to the pictures on this site or shoot us an email.
What is needed to reserve the date of our event?
Enable to reserve the date of your event, you need to turn in:
- $100 dollar deposit (This deposit will be taken out of the bottom line total)
- Signed contract.
How do we pay?
You can pay online using Paypal or through a check.
- The deposit ($100) is due when signing the contract.
- The remaining balance is due at the end of the event.
How do we stay in touch once we book?
Once the event is fully booked, you will be placed into our online life document database. This is a location where you can input all of your information (i.e. time, location, event details, music request etc.). The document will help the both of us to stay on the same page during the planning process. And obviously, we will still be in email/ phone conversation for any other questions.
Do you take requests?
We would't be much of a DJ company if we didn't! We welcome all music requests both at the event and in our online planning forms before the event. Also, don't forget about making a DO NOT PLAY list with all of the songs you hate and never want to have at your event.
Can we meet with you before the event?
Absolutely! We encourage meeting with us for a coffee to chat more about each event. But, if you can't meet, a great phone call works too.
What do your DJs wear to events?
For all of our wedding events, our DJs are all dressed in full suits. For all of our other events, we will probably be wearing some variation of branded Fulton Productions clothing. If for some reason you need us wearing something special I am sure something can be arranged.
Whats your favorite song?
Great question, and we have no idea! We love everything ;)
Where have you DJed before?
Check out our sweet blog called Where We've Been: http://www.fultonproductions.com/where-weve-been.html
Who is going to DJ our event?
We place our DJs based on compatibility and availability, but don't worry you will have a chance to meet your DJ before your event if you would like.
What kind of experience do your DJs have?
All of our DJs have plenty of experience. We take the time to train in all of our DJs with multiple events before we let them perform alone. Because weddings are such higher profile event, our wedding DJs have all done at least 100 weddings some with more then 300 weddings under their belt.
When do you arrive to set up?
For all of our wedding events, we plan to show up at least 2 hours ahead of time to make sure everything is fully set and cords look neat. For all of our other events we plan around an hour for set up time. This extra time is fully on us and is not a part of your hourly package.
Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?
We can talk as little or as much as you would like. Our DJs are trained to announce wedding parties, special dances, and any other announcements that you would like. We never try to be the main attention of the party but can be if desired.
How would you motivate the crowd if no one is dancing?
Our DJs are taught to cater to the crowd. However, if a request list is provided by the client we do not stray from that unless directed by them to do otherwise.
Are you supposed to tip a DJ?
We do not require you to tip any of our DJs but it is a good gesture if you have enjoyed the performance of your DJ.
Do you charge for travel?
Any event more than 25 miles from Minneapolis will incur a travel fee. This fee is $10 for every additional 20 minutes of travel.
Why did you get in the DJ business
We decided to get into DJing because we love the moment when you can forget about everything else in your life and just dance.
What if the DJ we booked has some sort of accident right before the event?
We have eight DJs who are on our staff and we only book out four in one night. This means that we have four other guys ready to jump on when they are needed. The company is also fully streamlined meaning we keep all the date for every event on the cloud so that any one of our DJs could go do your event perfectly.
