It all started when I was two years old and my parents found me banging a drum stick to the tune of Michael Jackson.
At the age of 17, I started DJing outdoor races organized by my uncle at Vacation Sports. I learned how to create an atmosphere for the racers and motivate them through my music. Learning about announcing and event planning was just icing on the cake. One day, a racer asked me to DJ their wedding. A wedding is such a huge part of someone's life, so I was astonished and scared to accept the offer. However, confident in my skill, I accepted and took the coming months to prepare.
The racer's wedding night finally arrived. I had all the equipment and their music request list ready. By the end of the night, everyone (including myself) was covered from head to toe in sweat from dancing the entire time. That night the wedding couple said, "This night could not have been better, we will refer you to everyone!"
And so it began. We became a prominent figure in the wedding industry, continued to DJ races all over the state, and produce promo videos for multiple clients. We joined the MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce and the White Bear Lake Chamber of Commerce. We began working with High Schools, DJing their dances and events. We also worked on multiple University events, gaining more and more publicity on campus. It soon seemed like every friend I knew talked to me about their upcoming event or a friend or relative who was getting married and needed a DJ.
Now a recent graduate from the University of Minnesota, I have re-branded the company I founded as a 17 year old. Through my years in college, I found employees by surrounding myself with people who had my same passion for music. Every single one of them has the same drive and desire: first and foremost, to make people happy. It just happens we get to do this by playing great music! Even today that passion for music never stops.
Fast forward to today. Fulton Productions (formerly known as K-Fult Productions) has DJed over 300 weddings and 200 races. Before every event I try to remember how I felt as a 17 year old DJing a new event. I still treat every event like it's my first. Clients deserve that type of enthusiasm in my announcements, attention to detail, and genuine excitement.
I live for the moment when I know my work at Fulton Productions makes an impact in someone else's life.
